"I am sure that you will have plenty of voluntary people in this castle, sir," she said, smiling.

He nodded, and looked over at Jonathan. "Run to the guard quarters, tell them I'm looking for volunteers for border patrols. And also alert them that Duraine has no choice, he is going. Once that is done, tell the cooks that the remainder of the boar I roasted is to be given to the servants."

Jonathan nodded, bowed slightly, and then headed towards the doors to go towards the other wing where the guards were held. It was at a very far end of the castle. Lilah looked over at him, speaking her mind once more. "You are very kind," she said quietly, tilting her head. "I hope that does not change," she stated firmly. Duraine had been kind in the beginning, too. Then, he'd turned, and now they were worse off.

"I have been a slave and a prisoner. I would never wish that upon any man or woman." He finished eating and stood. "Actually, I believe I would like to rest for the night before we deliver the message. And we must find a scribe to record this, so I cannot go back on my word, as any nobleman will be tempted to do." He stretched and sighed. "First, though, the bed-chambers. Would you show me to... the guest room. I assume you wish to keep your bed."

Lilah listened to him, and found her respect growing for him. She nodded her head and then she stood up, pushing her chair in easily as she looked towards him and gracefully smiled. "I thank you, but you may have my chambers, if you like, and I can reside within the guest room. You've earned the master room," she said quietly.

He shook his head. "You are still the rightful lady of this house, and the surrounding land. I have only removed the tyrant who prevented you from taking your rightful place. The master room is thine." He took a bit of a leap, using the familiar appellation. He stepped forward to follow her, calling another servant to relay the message of the delay to the soldiers. Nothing would happen until tomorrow, giving Durain a possible chance at simple assassination.

Lilah looked to him and decided that she was not in any place to argue. She led him to the guest room, which was not too far from the Master room at all. She opened the large, oak door and showed him around. The room was large, quaint. "I hope it suits you," she said, bowing her head slightly.
Meanwhile, the message was being spread, but Duraine was planning his uprising.

Marcus nodded his thanks to her and closed the door, heading to bed.

Lilah smiled slightly, heading to her bed chambers as well, slipping into her night gown. After standing on the balcony, staring up towards the moon for a moment, she headed back into her overly large bed, looking down at it. It was so open, the space... She adored it. She sprawled out on it, laughing like a child, and she tucked herself beneath the blankets, undoing her hair and letting it fall about her before attempting sleep.
In the midst of the night, Duraine managed to slip from his chambers without notice. He made his way to where Lilah was sleeping, and yanked her from the bed. He bound her mouth, gagging her, and beat her. Her face had a purpling welt on it, and her body was scraped and revealed as he drug her from her bed. Then, with her in tow, he slipped silently into Marcus's chambers and approached, a sword extended before him and Lilah gripped by the hair on the floor.
"Wake, filth," he spat at the sleeping form, the sword right in Marcus's face.

Marcus's right hand snapped up and over, knocking the sword aside, as he surged upward, throwing a hard left uppercut at Duraine's jaw, the force increased by his own upward movement.

Marcus shocked Duraine but flared his anger. His jaw snapped back and the reaction caused him to release Lilah. She knocked a hard punch to the mans stomach, the lower stomach, right beneath the ribs on his right side as she scrambled to be as far away from him as she could possibly be.
Duraine doubled over as Lilah surprise socked him, and then he swung towards Marcus. He wasn't skilled in hand to hand combat.

Marcus tilted his head to the side, making the dodge that avoided the unskilled punch look completely casual. For some reason, though he was not wearing his torso, arm, or leg armor, he was still wearing his gauntlets. The right one was spiked, and he now back-handed Duraine across the neck, the spikes tearing across the carotid artery.
((It's up to you whether they ripped it open.))

Duraine thought he'd missed it, but it barely sliced through the carotid artery. Enough to cause the blood to slowly spurt from his neck, staining his clothes. Lilah screamed slightly, covering her face and shaking. Anything like this, the violence, tended to have a bad effect on her. In her state of shock, from her hiding place near the large dresser, the mirror began to shake.
Duraine hit his knees, the blood still spurting. Lilah trembled and then the mirror shattered, and she shouted once more, this time in surprise and shock.

"And now, defenestration." Marcus grabbed Duraine and swung him up, over, and out the window, before running over to Lilah. At some point, he seemed to have removed his gauntlets.

Duraine fell to his death, though he might have been dead before he hit the stone ground.
Lilah winced from him, her sheer nightgown torn in places and hanging loose from her body. There were welps on her face and back from Duraine's fists. She had her face in her hands, her body trembling softly. She winced from him, looking over towards him fearfully. "M-M-Marcus... I didn't..." she whimpered and buried her face again, into her hands.
