Ajax was on a ship in the same system. He strode down a hallway briskly. Anyone near him could tell he was shaken by something. The young officer had been pulled into a room by some black coats from ONI. They asked a great deal of questions about his past and more specifically his time as a Black ops pilot. He knew that ONI had been looking into getting a ship posting for him. The Spartan stops as he notes that the same marine has been following him for the past five minutes. Spinning on his feet he speaks "what is it Marine," his voice is firm but seems unnaturally smooth. The marine stops snapping to attention "sir I am to watch you until we land on Onyx." sighing Ajax continues walking towards the landing craft. Once aboard he watches the ship vanish into the distance. A man sits across from him quietly, occasionally the man looks up at Ajax before looking back down and typing into a communicator. Ayala receives a message from ONI alerting her to a possible pilot. The message also contains his full record.
Elexa nods again. She guessed either her and Ayla would part ways now, Ayla to her mission and Elexa to her training; or her training was about to skip the practice stage and go right to field testing. She wished she had more experience under her belt to read the situation. She felt railroaded, but being the good soldier she was, she accepted it.
They went through full training, with Ayla as her instructor. As they went, it became clear. They were training to be partners. This ment they did everything together. Eating, sleeping, even bathing. Halfway through, they even mourned together, as Patriot succumbed to old age. Shortly after, they rejoiced together as Blue gave birth to 2 pups.
Ajax was shocked when he got pulled in for training as their pilot. Throughout the training he juggled three separate regiments to get ready. The other Spartan wolves even started to trust him as he proved himself time and time again. Practicing with the black cat he was a fearsome adversary for simulated opponents. A couple times he tried asking for some archer missile pods but he never expected much out of the request. Instead he became efficient at dodging detection. He utilized his AI to calibrate the ship to move even better. In his other training regiments he mastered most infiltration drills. He shocked the Spartan wolves and probably all onlookers in his first sparing matches when he took on three opponents at once. Training for him was difficult but highly rewarding.
