Shortly after Zeus and his other Greek god brethren took over Olympus, he created an elite army of immortal warriors to protect him. A while later he came in possession of the dimOuniak a box that housed Hell’s most vial demons that had escaped the Underworld to wreak havoc on the surface world. The god of thunder gave this box to one of his most trusted warriors, Pandora. Jealousy soon ran through several others. Soon thirteen warriors, by a suggestion of another, murdered Pandora and opened the box. The gods then punished the warriors by forcing them to house a single demon and cast them from the heaven. After a century the “Lords of the Underworld” as they were then called gained control over their demon parts and they lived on the surface world in supposed peace. Unbeknownst to them, several people in the godly prison of Tatarus were also infected with the other demons that were in the box.
Centuries flew by and a group rose known as the Hunters who blamed the Lords for all the world’s issues. They could be identified by a tattoo of the symbol for infinity on their wrists. As a way to lure the Lords in, they used women as “bait.” Once they had a Lord in their grasp they would attempt to kill them. One such attempt succeeded and the Lord known as Baden who housed the demon of Distrust had fallen. What the Hunters (and the Lords themselves) didn’t know was that once they killed a Lord, their demon will escape and roam the earth free once again creating havoc upon the “innocent” humans. With the death of Baden, the Lords split into two factions. One stayed in Greece to fight the Hunters while the others escaped for peace. They found it in Budapest.
More years passed and the Lords were soon reunited as the battle against Hunters arrived to Budapest with vengeance. Also, it became known that the Greek gods were overthrown by the Titans who had escaped Tatarus. They soon were sent into a quest to find godly artifacts that would summon the very box that their demons had escaped from. They also found out that the leader of their enemy was the very team mate who told them kill Pandora and open the box. This friend houses the demon of Hope. And Hope is a demon because it likes to give people hope to do things for HIS benefit (not theirs) and then laugh as their dreams and plans get shattered.
((I have only read up to half of the sixth book so from this point I diverge from the story to create my own alternate universe with the assumption that each of the “Lords” have fallen in love, procreated, and had fallen to their enemies. I will post more of the background history tomorrow))

((As I promised, I shall continue the background story))
The items that were needed were the All Seeing Eye, Cage of Compulsion, Paring Rod, and Invisibility Cloak. (I could not help but squeal at this point because I thought of Harry Potter) So anyways, the Lords were eventually able to obtain the items needed but then disaster occurred. Galen had managed to capture the loved ones of the Lords and threatened to kill them all if they did not give up the items. Upon the items being handed over, Galen used the dimOuniak to kill the Lords, their spouses, and the Titans taking over. He only spared his daughter, the Lord’s Children and the spouses who were with children. He took them to his newly reconstructed school and saw that those with child died during birth so he could use the children for his own nefarious deeds.
Fifteen years later, Galen used the box again to place the demons within the children of the Lords to create his own army. Unfortunately, Hope had forgotten how feral the newly possessed children would become and was over thrown quickly. A century passed and the new Lords of the Underworld regained control of themselves. However the group was split for those who wished to continue to wreak havoc across the world and those who wanted to live in peace. The Hunters rose again as well and now a new battle must be fought.

A few notes. Hunters have a symbol of infinity tattooed to their inner wrist. The "Lords" cannot be killed without letting their demons loose, however the Hunters have figured out how to capture the demons and put them into new hosts so they tend not to show mercy now.
