He took off, rising into the air to gently circle the group. The kids on his back could see for miles.

Lyvea kept close to the younger ones. "Would you let someone else ride on you if I was needed down below?" She asked the beast.

Lyvea nodded. "Ok, then let me off and my mother will take the helm. I need to show those men how to keep our animals in line." She knew what Sachem knew, which was she was better than the men. It was why the best of the flock was part of her dowry. From above she also could see her older brother Ulrich trying integrate that flock within his own so he could keep them.

Noni looked at her daughter and the animal. The children were ok but she still wasn't so sure about getting on. Lyvea helped her on. "It's ok, very smooth." She assured. "It's better if I'm down here so Sachem and Hossam can contact each other." The young woman watched as her oldest brother brought a map to the dragon's eye to show him where they will meet at sundown. The men made sure to help the other women on the back as well as a few tents for and supplies for when they landed.

He took off, and within minutes said, "Hostiles on the next dune. Detour two dunes south and you will be out of sight."

Lyvea relayed the information to her brother. He sent scouts ahead to take care of the hostiles while detouring.

There were too many. Hosaam circled and dove, blasting the dune with a gout of flame so hot it glassed the sand. The bandits didn't even have a chance to scream.

The women held onto the children as he dove. Some of them shielded the young ones eyes as some of the older ones cheered with the flames.
Lyvea sent her brother's thank-you to Hossam as they continued their walk.
